Job Description and Duties Under the direction of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs (SCEP), and in coordination with the Career Technical Education (CTE) headquarters unit, the Supervisor of Vocational Instruction (SVI) will be responsible for every aspect of supporting and evaluating CTE programs. Supporting and evaluating CTE programs includes, but is not limited to, developing program quality standards for program evaluation, communicating program quality standards to staff and supervisors, regularly reporting program quality formative and summative data, coaching teachers on effective instructional strategies, interpreting educational policy, and developing well-informed policy recommendations.

Special Requirements The position requires a California Teaching Credential License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired. Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a valid regular or provisional credential from among the following issued by the Commission for Teacher Preparation and Licensing: 1. General Administration Credential (Standard Administration Credential). or 2. Secondary School Administration Credential (Standard Administration Credential). or 3. Secondary School Supervision Credential (Standard Supervision Credential). or 4. Special Secondary Vocational Class A Credential with Supervision Authorization in Trade and Industrial and Public Service Education. (Applicants holding this credential must have completed ten semester hours of professional course work pertaining to the organization, supervision, and legal aspects of vocational education, coordination, and school and community relations. These ten semester hours are in addition to the 28 semester hours required for the full-time basic teaching credential and shall be offered by the Division of Vocational Education, located at the University of California, Berkeley and Los Angeles.). or 5. Special Secondary Vocational Class B with Supervision Authorization in Trade and Industrial and Public Service Education. or 6. Secondary School Administration Credential in Trade and Industrial Education. or 7. Standard Supervision Credential in Trade and Technical and Industrial Education. (Applicants who do not possess the required credential will be admitted to the examination, but must secure the credential before they will be considered eligible for appointment.) and Experience: Two years of administrative, supervisory, or teaching experience in an organized vocational training program.
