Job Summary
The School Mental Health Clinician collaborates with administration, classroom teachers and support staff to provide and coordinate mental health support and services to students and their families via individual and group counseling sessions, as well as classroom presentations at school sites. In addition, the School Mental Health Clinician will also provide educational based services and goals related to the assessment and delivery of mental health care for eligible pupils; provide consultation to parents, teachers, other special education staff, and administrators, and coordinate services and evaluations with other district classified and certificated staff. They will conduct one-to-one and group presentations, as well as classroom support of instructional and behavioral strategies for site administrators and staff in support of students, which align with the overall mental health goals of the school and district.
Requirements / Qualifications
*A Master’s Degree or higher in counseling, psychology, marriage family therapy, or a closely related field *A minimum of one year of successful experience in a mental health setting or school setting providing clinical counseling services *A valid California license as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Clinical Social worker (LCSW) *Experience with special education processes (IEPs, 504s, ERMHS), crisis response, and multi-tiered behavioral interventions is highly desirable
