We are seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as an Instructional Assistant Paraeducator! In this role, you will work alongside our teachers, providing valuable support in both instructional and non-instructional classroom tasks. Your main responsibilities will include tutoring, assisting individual students or small groups with assignments, and implementing behavior management strategies. The successful candidates will maintain a positive and upbeat atmosphere, contribute to creating a pleasant learning environment where students can thrive, and undertake clerical and administrative duties such as record-keeping, preparing materials, and monitoring student progress. To excel in this role, the candidate should have a strong grasp of child development, behavior management, and instructional processes. They must demonstrate the ability to follow both oral and written instructions, work independently with a sense of accountability, and establish positive working relationships with staff and volunteers. Good organizational skills are essential, as is proficiency in operating office equipment. Additionally, the candidate should be adaptable to the varying needs of our students. Prior experience working with school-age children, and having first aid and CPR certificates would be desired but is not required. The schedule is 2.5 hours per day from 12:40 PM to 3:10 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Candidates interested in this position must meet ESSA standards and provide proof of the following: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b. A. A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Employment is contingent on DOJ and FBI clearance, and TB assessment clearance.
