Job Summary
The position of Special Education Classroom Assistant (SECA) is done for the purpose(s) of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs students in the regular classroom or in a self- contained classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; and providing information to appropriate school personnel. This position reports to the site administrator.
Requirements / Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent; two years of higher education/Associate’s Degree or higher relating to education, or passage of a district academic assessment test; one year experience or work involving contact with children, preferably including knowledge of subject matter taught in the classroom.

Assists teacher in providing services to students; work with groups of students as directed. Relieves teacher of routine clerical and authorized instructional duties; other related work as assigned. Must be physically able to bend, stoop, lift and assist students in emergency situations
The district is located along Interstate 8, in the southeastern mountains of San Diego County, approximately 50 miles east of the city of San Diego.
