Job Summary

Job Summary

Under supervision of Food Service Manager, to plan, prepare and serve meals in a school cafeteria. Use prescribed menus; computes, nutrition factors; submits food orders; prepares and serves school lunches; supervises work of kitchen assistants, if any; maintain records as required by District and State; inventory kitchen supplies and equipment; maintains cafeteria kitchen in a sanitary condition; perform other related tasks appropriate to this job classification. QUALIFICATIONS Required: • High school diploma or equivalent • Pre Employment physical required - upon hire Desirable: • Two years experience in preparing food in a commercial or institutional operation. • Courses in menu planning, nutrition and sanitation. • Serve Safe Certification This position is part of the Classified Employee Unit at MCUSD/MCOE and will be placed depending on experience on the Classified Employee Salary schedule on Range 15. This position is for 4.25 hours/day at El Portal Elementary School in El Portal, California. THIS POSITION COULD BE COMBINED WITH THE FOOD SERVER POSITION AT EL PORTAL ELEMENTARY - IF INTERESTED IN MORE HOURS PLEASE APPLY FOR THE FOOD SERVER POSITION FOR THE EL PORTAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The Mariposa County Unified School District is located in Mariposa County and serves grades K-12. With approximately 1,700 students, the area consists of several necessary small schools, K-8 schools, and one comprehensive high school.
