TUSD is seeking a reliable and compassionate licensed health professional to join our school district as an on-call substitute staff member. This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, student-focused individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents. Overview: As a substitute staff member, you will fill in for our school nursing and health support team on an as-needed basis across district sites. You'll be responsible for providing day-to-day health services to students, including first aid, medication administration, health screenings, and communication with parents and staff regarding student wellness. Responsibilities: - Deliver basic health assessments and first aid to students and staff - Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and district policy - Maintain accurate health records and documentation - Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health needs - Respond calmly and efficiently to medical emergencies - Follow all district health protocols, confidentiality requirements, and applicable state regulations Qualifications: - Current and active California licensure as one of the following: - Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Registered Nurse (RN) - Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) - Prior experience working with children or in a school setting preferred - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and adapt to varying school environments Compensation: Salary is commensurate with licensure. Schedule: On-call / as-needed basis. Frequency of assignments varies based on district need. Regular availability preferred.
