Job Summary

The East Side Union High School District are seeking a skilled and passionate Choir Accompanists to support our District choir programs. This position plays a key role in helping students learn their parts during rehearsals and accompanying them musically during both practices (rehearsals) and performances. The ideal candidate has strong piano skills, experience working with children, and a collaborative spirit.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications/Certifications: •Proficient piano accompanist with strong sight-reading skills. •Experience accompanying high school aged vocal ensembles. •Basic understanding of choral conducting cues and rehearsal techniques. •Reliable, punctual, and flexible team player Preferred Qualifications: •Prior experience in music education or teaching voice parts . •Ability to transpose or simplify music as needed

Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit Resume and Letters of Recommendation/Reference. Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results PRIOR to employment.

Key Tasks/Duties: •Accompany weekly choir rehearsals on piano •Provide part-learning support: play vocal lines and assist with sectional rehearsals when needed •Assist the choir director with teaching pitch, rhythm, and basic music literacy as needed •Accompany the choir during all scheduled concerts and performances •Support a positive, inclusive, and fun learning environment for young singers Other Duties/Responsibilities: •Person serving in this capacity would be assigned to classes requiring piano accompaniment •May need to teach at multiple sites to meet requirement of base assignment •Attend occasional planning meetings or rehearsals outside regular hours (with advance notice)
