Job Summary

The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate Marching Band Program Coordinator. Throughout the fall season, the Program Coordinator will work alongside a credentialed teacher at District High Schools, supporting the school’s beginning, intermediate, and advanced instrumental music and marching band students students. This "marching band specific" role includes preparation and instruction to work towards mastery, contributing to high-quality music and movement education for a diverse student body and A marching band program coordinator ensures all visual and musical elements combine into a cohesive, high-quality show, acting as a liaison between designers (drill, music, guard) and the band director. They oversee the creative vision, set production schedules, and ensure show themes are appropriate for the performers' skill levels. May be assigned to multiple sections and/or multiple sites.

Qualifications/Certifications: •Experience in instrument specific pedagogy, rehearsal planning and implementation. •Experience teaching high school-aged students. •Experience teaching small group and one on one instruction."

Key Tasks/Duties: •Collaborate with the Instrumental director(s) so as to align with overall goals of the program. •Provide one on one and small group instruction designed to enhance students technical proficiency •Provide one on one and small group instruction designed to enhance students musical expression •Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment. •Show Conception & Design: Brainstorming themes, selecting music, and finding arrangers/drill designers. •Coordination & Planning: Managing the overall production schedule, including deadlines for drill, music, and props. •Visual and Musical Integration: Collaborating with designers to match music with drill and color guard choreography. •Staff Oversight: Acting as the central point for instructional staff (caption heads, percussion, color guard) to ensure a consistent approach. •Logistics & Scheduling: Developing the rehearsal calendar, planning competitions, and aligning with the budget."
