The teacher provides a comprehensive educational program for pupils in a self-contained classroom setting. The teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality instruction across all core subjects aligned with California Content Standards. A K-8 Self-Contained Classroom Teacher is typically responsible for teaching multiple subjects to the same group of students throughout the day. Requirements / Qualifications
Required Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. • Credential: Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. • Authorizations: English Learner (EL) Authorization (e.g., CLAD certificate). • Testing: Verification of passing the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) and CSET: Multiple Subjects (unless waived by degree/coursework). • Legal: Fingerprint clearance and background check via DOJ/FBI; TB test clearance.
