General Description of Position Goals: The itinerant Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Secondary Instructional Coach is responsible for building teachers' capacity, to ensure diverse learners will meet the demands of adopted Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and effective classroom implementation of literacy and mathematical practices. The MTSS Secondary Instructional Coach will provide on-going academic classroom-based modeling, coaching, and mentoring; Plan, implement, and deliver high-quality professional development across content areas; and support Professional Learning Communities (PLC)/Grade Level or Content Level Teams inquiry, collaboration, and data analysis. The MTSS Secondary Instructional Coach will be part of site leadership/ILT teams and support teachers in the continuous improvement process. The MTSS Secondary Instructional Coach will guide teachers with the implementation of best practices to promote fidelity of program and practice implementation in support of core literacy and math skills growth across the curriculum.

Requirements / Qualifications

1. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching. A minimum of one year of successful experience in leadership and/or coaching is desirable. 2. Education: Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required; Official Transcripts. A Master's Degree is desirable. 3. Credential: Possession of a valid California Credential authorizing Elementary or Single Subject Service and English Learner Authorization is required. 4. Other Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: -Department of Homeland Security I-9 Form completion -TB Test Clearance -Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance -Must possess a valid California Driver’s License during the course of employment. Must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
