1:1 SDC Instructional Aide – 6.25 Hours/Day Paradise Ridge Elementary School Paradise Unified School District is seeking a caring, patient, and dependable 1:1 SDC Instructional Aide to support a student at Paradise Ridge Elementary School. This position is 6.25 hours per day and provides individualized assistance to help the student successfully participate in their educational program and school day. Position Overview Under the direction of a certificated teacher and appropriate school staff, the 1:1 Instructional Aide provides individualized support to a student enrolled in a Special Day Class (SDC). The aide works closely with the classroom team to support the student's academic, behavioral, communication, social-emotional, physical, and/or daily living needs, as identified in the student's educational program. Essential Duties Responsibilities may include: Provide direct 1:1 support to the assigned student throughout the school day. Assist the student with classroom assignments, instructional activities, and access to the curriculum. Reinforce skills and strategies introduced by the classroom teacher and other service providers. Support positive behavior using established classroom and student-specific strategies. Assist with transitions between activities, classrooms, recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and other school settings. Promote student independence while providing the level of assistance necessary for student safety and success. Support communication, social interaction, and appropriate peer relationships. Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, toileting, or other daily living needs when required by the student's program. Observe student behavior and progress and communicate relevant information to the supervising teacher. Implement behavior, safety, health, or instructional plans as directed and trained. Maintain student confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times. Collaborate effectively with teachers
