A. Definition Under general direction, performs a variety of technical, specialized and confidential functions in support of recruitment and examination of classified, management personnel, and student workers. Provides information and assistance to employees, job applicants and the general public regarding human resources functions, policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.

Assists administrative personnel, the general public, agencies, employees and candidates for the purpose of providing assistance, support, information and coordination of classified personnel activities. 2. Coordinates appointments, tests, and interview processes for the purpose of ensuring efficient processing of qualified and available applicants to meet staffing needs of the district. 3. Maintains files and records (e.g. periodic reports, eligibility reports, employee records, etc.). 4. Processes documents, forms, reports and materials (e.g. employee status changes, employment verification, new hires, reports, requisitions, applications, test scores for applicants, invoices, new hire packets, etc.). 5. Assists in the orientation of new employees. 6. Greets visitors and directs them to appropriate department or staff member (e.g. public, substitutes, vendors, etc.). 7. Administers district examinations, and records results. 8. Responds to/monitors selection procedures to ensure compliance with current human resources procedures/practices, board policies and bargaining unit agreement. 9. Prepares or assists in the preparation of variety of regular and special reports related to classified employee information and other current or historical data as required by the County Office of Education and/or the District. 10. Processes candidates, materials and documents (e.g. fingerprints, payroll documents, district forms, schedules, conference requests, mail applications, etc.) for the purposes of ensuring efficient processing of applicants, efficient operation of department and proper dissemination to appropriate parties. 11. Supports assigned administrator and the District’s human resources department. 12. Attends in-service trainings, staff meetings, workshops, etc. as requested.

Required Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or comparable work experience. 3. Knowledge of basic human resources principles; pertinent computer software applications, including spreadsheets; preparation of reports. 4. Ability to: Compose all levels of written correspondence independently, accurately and with correct use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation; communicate effectively in oral and written forms in both English and Spanish; assume responsibility and exercise good judgment; understand and follow oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others; understand and apply complex policies, rules, and procedures; maintain confidentiality of privileged information; operate a computer using word processing and spreadsheet software; exercise tact and diplomacy when in dealing with sensitive and confidential information; maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
