About the Employer

Potter Valley Community Unified School District is located in a quiet, rural valley in Mendocino County, California. Potter Valley is a small community made up of a population of roughly 400 people. PVCUSD is made up of four schools; Potter Valley Elementary School (grades Pre K - 6), Potter Valley Junior High School (grades 7-8), Potter Valley High School (grades 9 - 12) and an alternative school - Centerville High School (continuation). With approximately 300 students, we are a connected and student focused school district in Mendocino County, tucked away near the headwaters of the East Fork of the Russian River. We offer a wide array of athletic teams, a strong academic program, a school farm and orchard, and an extensive range of extracurricular options contributing to a variety of pathways that students can take after high school. The Potter Valley community is not only incredibly supportive of, but also heavily involved in all school activities and events. After over 45 years of operation, Potter Valley continues to proudly provide a high quality, local education for students, preschool through 12th grade. We pride ourselves in providing a unique and relational approach to education in contrast to the big-box schools that struggle to keep students from becoming just another face in the crowd. The students, parents, and staff at PVCUSD have committed themselves to make the necessary adjustments to our curriculum to meet rigorous academic demands while remaining true to our roots and keeping the best interest of students at the center of everything we do. OUR MISSION: The Potter Valley Community Unified School District provides a safe, sound, comprehensive educational environment with the participation of a supportive community. The district empowers all students with a common core of knowledge and skills which allows them to recognize their potential to become successful and active participants in our democratic society. OUR MOTTO: “Potter Valley Schools, a family rather than a factory approach to education,” expresses this focus and inspires all engaged partners to work hard to maintain a school where “Community” is more than just a word in our district name; it is a description of how we approach education. Thank you for your interest in Potter Valley Unified School District. Please feel free to contact us at (707) 743-2101, with any questions.
