Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, provide specialized health care services for the care of students in severely disabled programs; and do other related work as required. [Ability to:] Provide basic nursing skills to administer health care to severely handicapped students; Effectively create and maintain records, and accurately compile and complete required reports; Serve as a resource, provide training and guidance, identify problems, and recommend solutions; Work independently with directives, and follow established policies and practices; Be flexible and receptive to change; Attend in-service training, conferences and meetings, as needed. ***Please review the job description for a complete overview of the position and requirements.** (Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance)

Requirements / Qualifications

[Education and Experience:] Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurses Training Program. Health care related experience is required. Previous experience working with severely handicapped students in a school setting is highly desirable. [License, Certificate and Testing Requirements:] Possess a valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse license and CPR Certification Card. Possess a valid California driver license and maintain insurability. Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to work sites within Kings County. Transport students from time to time as required, in a county office vehicle. Participate in random alcohol and controlled substances testing as delineated in Superintendent Policy 4112.42, 4212.42, 4312.42 and Administrative Regulation 4112.42, 4212.42 and 4312.42. Please attach a copy of transcripts if applicable. **Applicants are required to list all previous employment with school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and/or state special schools, regardless of how long you worked there. Be sure to include part-time, full-time, and substitute positions.**
