Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the school administrator, the Elementary School Classroom Assistant assists in providing instructional support to individual or small groups of students in assigned subject matter areas to reinforce classroom lessons in and outside the classroom, provide instructional assistance to the classroom teacher, supervise students, and perform a variety of related duties in the maintenance of an effective learning environment.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED. Passing score on the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) OR an Associate’s Degree (or higher) OR 48 or more eligible units of coursework at a recognized college or university. One year of experience (paid or volunteer) working with youth in an organized setting, ideally with students in a school setting
