EAST NICOLAUS JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Description JOB TITLE: CLASSROOM AIDE SALARY RANGE: Range 1 on Classified Salary Schedule DIVISION: Classified DEPARTMENT: Classified LOCATION: ENHS REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Principal WORK YEAR: TBD APPROVED BY: Governing Board SUMMARY: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students; assist in the preparation of instructional materials; provide routine clerical support. Duties will be commensurate with demonstrated ability, training, education and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other related duties may be assigned. 1. Provide instruction in core subject areas as needed, instruction and guidance from certificated staff. 2. Perform a variety of clerical and record keeping activities including, student attendance and behavior records, academic and achievement records, preparation of materials, and maintaining records and supplies. 3. Maintain confidentiality of school records and information. 4. Assist with the preparation of instructional materials. 5. Perform student assessment activities including, administration of tests, scoring tests and written work, and maintaining assessment records. 6. Set up and maintain special classroom equipment and learning centers. 7. Operate audio-visual and office equipment 8. Assure health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures. Perform routine first aid and assist with student medical treatment after proper training. 9. Escort students from the classroom to areas on campus as needed. 10. Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and parent conferences. 11. Assists with student supplementary assignments and supervises independent work. 12. Perform the functions of the position in an accurate, neat and timely fashion. 13. Use good judgment and decision-making skills. 14. Tutor
