Job Summary
Job Summary
Under general direction, the School Nurse is a licensed registered nurse with additional educational preparation and certification in school nursing. The school nurse plans, develops, and implements the charter health services program in the individual schools and Charter Alternative Programs department in accordance with state laws and County Office policies and procedures. The School Nurse is uniquely qualified in preventative health, health assessment, referral procedures, health education, and health counseling.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Two (2) years of professional nursing experience, preferably including experience working with school-age children, public health, pediatric nursing, community health, or school nursing. Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited institution. School Nurse Credential or eligible for California credential with authorization as a school nurse;
