Fundamental Responsibilities****************************************************************** The Independent Study Specialist is responsible for the review and audit of attendance records for students enrolled in the Independent Study Program. The Independent Study Specialist maintains files and records, prepares reports and performs other clerical support functions. Maintain student contracts and student work samples for independent study students.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications****************************************************************************** High School Diploma Required, Associates OR BS/ B.A. Degree preferred. Experience in the performance of clerical work, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining records and filing systems. Skill using standard office equipment (computer, typewriter, printer, fax, calculator, etc.). Knowledge of general office procedures, record keeping. Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines, type at a net corrected speed of 45 words per minute, gather, review and analyze data, balance various assignments and priorities, learn and apply rules and regulations governing independent study including auditing procedures and computerized record management system, accurately and efficiently process work, work and communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. One (1) year of successful clerical or fiscal experience (i.e. Accounting, Auditing, Attendance Accounting). Microsoft Certification upon employment preferred. Valid Drivers License & Insurance. Work Duties******************************************************************** • Maintains files, records, inventories, data bases, etc. • Prepares forms, reports, files, report cards, and other written material • Administers student placement tests • Assists parents, teachers, students, office staff and personnel from other agencies, and others • Performs related duties as assigned.
