The High School Spanish Teacher is responsible for providing rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction that develops students' proficiency in Spanish while fostering critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and global cultural awareness. Through research-based instructional practices, differentiated learning experiences, and meaningful assessment, the teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom where all students are empowered to achieve high levels of success. The teacher maintains accurate student records, monitors academic progress, and communicates regularly with students, families, and colleagues to support student achievement. As an active member of the Vaughn Next Century Learning Center community, the High School Spanish Teacher collaborates with colleagues to strengthen instructional programs, participates in professional learning and school committees, and contributes to a positive school culture aligned with Vaughn's mission and values. The ideal candidate is fully bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural in Spanish and English, demonstrates high expectations for all students, effectively integrates technology into instruction, and is committed to preparing students with the linguistic, cultural, and academic skills necessary to succeed in college, career, and a globally connected world.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must have a valid California Single Subject teaching credential with an authorization in Foreign Language: Spanish required Have BCLAD, CLAD, or EL Authorization required Experience with Project Based Learning preferred Bachelor degree in Mandarin or related field preferred
