Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   
Essential Job Functions: 1. Works with individual students or small/large groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills as directed by the teacher. 2. Assists substitute teachers assigned in the absence of a regular teacher. 3. Administers, scores, and records achievement and diagnostic assessments for students as directed by the teacher. 4. Performs clerical duties related to student progress. 5. Supervises student activities as directed by teacher. 6. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. A.A. degree, 48 units beyond the high school diploma, or passage of district or county test in reading, math, and writing per the federal No Child Left Behind Act. 3. TB test clearance. 4. Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance. Desired Qualifications: 1. Valid certification in C.P.R. and First Aid. 2. Computer proficiency. 3. Previous experience in working with children. Abilities: Sit and stand for prolonged periods, understand and carry out oral and written instructions, maintain confidentiality of student records, meet schedules and deadlines, work accurately and with attention to detail, read/interpret/apply rules, regulations, policies. Significant physical abilities include lifting, carrying, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, speaking, hearing, near/far visual acuity/visual accommodation, communicating.
