Our program cultivates students' natural abilities by offering small classes, individualized learning options, frequent advisement meetings, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary teaching. We are looking for 1 part-time ESL teacher to teach at the elementary and middle school grade levels. Our teacher will teach ESL to our students during our fall semester. This teacher will be positive, confident, and energetic, making a lasting contribution. Expected qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience include: Bachelor's Degree in ESL, TESOL, Linguistics, or Education preferred. TESOL/TEFL certification preferred. Experience teaching ESL learners at all levels. Strong understanding of language acquisition and phonics instruction. 2 Years of Teaching Experience (as an Elementary or Middle School Teacher) Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills Applicants should be comfortable interacting with those of various backgrounds and professional levels, from parents to school administrators. Experience working with elementary and middle school students Applicants should be flexible, resourceful, and able to communicate well with students and families. Duties and Responsibilities Create teaching strategies to engage students and encourage class participation. Present lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of ESL concepts Assign homework and give and grade tests. Assess student performance to determine if they are learning at an acceptable level and pace. Communicate student concerns or issues to administrators. Have strong classroom management and communication skills. Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for the class subject and grade level. Manage classroom activities and support student engagement. Teach beginner-level ESL students in the Intensive English program.
