Job Summary
Oxnard Union High School District is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. Under the direction of the site administrator, the teacher will provide instruction individually or in groups, support students in special and general education settings, and collaborate with school staff and families to meet the educational needs of assigned students. The Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher will support the implementation and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), evaluate student progress, provide appropriate instructional interventions and modifications, and coordinate special education services for assigned students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to supporting student achievement and providing an inclusive, supportive, and appropriately challenging educational environment. Applicants should possess the ability to: Provide effective instruction to students with disabilities in individual and group settings. Implement appropriate instructional strategies, curriculum modifications, and interventions. Collaborate effectively with general education and special education staff. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and monitoring of student programs. Maintain accurate and appropriate student records. Communicate effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals. Work effectively in a classroom environment with routine disruptions and distractions associated with student behavior and instructional activities.
