Job Summary
Key Responsibilities ? Serve as the lead teacher for the 2nd-grade classroom during all assigned instructional periods. ? Assume full responsibility for instruction, classroom management, student supervision, and the learning environment during scheduled hours. ? Follow and implement lesson plans, curriculum pacing, classroom procedures, and instructional expectations established by the regular teacher and school administration. ? Prepare supplemental lessons and instructional materials when necessary. ? Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate, and standards-aligned instruction. ? Assess student learning, grade assignments, and maintain accurate records of student progress. ? Provide differentiated instruction and support for students with varying academic, behavioral, language, and social-emotional needs. ? Maintain a safe, organized, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. ? Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress or classroom concerns, as needed and in coordination with administration. ? Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialist teachers, support staff, and administration. ? Collaborate with Chinese Teacher to teach Units of Inquiry, along with their final presentation project. ? Attend required meetings, training sessions, and school activities that fall within the employee’s assigned work schedule. ? Respond promptly to professional emails and school communications. ? Complete assigned arrival, dismissal, recess, lunch, or other supervisory duties that occur during scheduled work hours. ? Prepare appropriate instructional records and transition information for the regular teacher’s return. ? Perform other duties related to the assignment and scheduled working hours.
