Requirements / Qualifications
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under general direction, plans, organizes and supervises the functions of the District Maintenance and Operations Department; supervises the maintenance, repair and improvement of all buildings, equipment, and grounds; and does related work as required. The Board of Education designates this position as Management. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE OF: Legal codes related to school buildings and grounds. Facilities operation, inspection, maintenance and repair. District organization, operations, policies and objectives. Principles of training and providing work direction. Evaluation procedures and practices. Budget preparation and control. Ability to: Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Develop and maintain positive working relationships. Effectively supervise and accurately evaluate the performance of assigned staff. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree or any combination equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in maintenance management or related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in building trades, maintenance and custodial employees.
