Job Summary

Job Summary

High School graduate or equivalent and one (1) year experience utilizing sign language. Completion of two (2) years of higher education study OR possession of an Associate's or higher level degree. Bachelor's degree in an educationally related field is preferred. Meet the certification requirements (listed below) required by Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Sections 3051.16 and 3065.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must meet certification requirements of the California Department of Education Code of Regulations (5 CCR 3051.16) for educational interpreters(5 CCR 3051.16 and 3065) which include the following criteria: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or in lieu of this certification or equivalent; Equivalent requirements would be a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Proficiency Assessment (EIPA), the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R) or National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (NA/ACCI) assessment.

  • Other (Proof of Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID); OR, Proof of a score of 4.0 or above on the Educational Interpreter Proficiency Assessment (EIPA), the Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R) or National Association of the Deaf/American Consortium of Certified Interpreters (NA/ACCI) assessment)
