Job Summary:
This job is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing approved developmentally appropriate curriculum for the growth of children enrolled in the Table Mountain Rancheria Academy. This individual is to provide a safe and nurturing environment conducive to the improvement and advancement of children.
The following is a list of essential duties and responsibilities for this position. It is not all-inclusive, other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and management may modify this job description when appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, and implements approved curriculum for the development of children enrolled in the Table Mountain Rancheria Education Program and develops goals and objectives that are consistent with student needs
Participates in parent conferences and provides information concerning individual student progress and development
Administers individual student assessments, observes children during classroom activities, documents and records individual and group observations, and maintains child observation records according to established guidelines
Participates in program evaluation through analysis of student assessment, individual classroom environment assessment, and parent survey results
Develops lesson plans in accordance with established policies and prepares materials to promote student learning
Plans and organize functional and attractive classroom displays that directly relate to established curriculum and maintain a clean and safe environment
Provides an appropriate climate that assists children and reinforces positive attitudes and social skills
Attends meetings and participates in training workshops, conferences, courses and a variety of professional growth activities
Monitors, observes, and interacts with children during outdoor playground activities to promote student learning
Monitors the health of Education Department students and administers basic first aid and notifies appropriate personnel of health-related issues
Provides training and work direction to assistants and participates in their evaluations
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments
Single or Multiple Subject Teaching Credential or Emergency Credential
One (1) to two (2) years related experience as well as other relevant educational or work experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of lesson plan development
Knowledge of learning recovery programs or children with learning disabilities
Ability to effectively communicate in small and large groups
Ability to analyze, provide feedback, and create goals for students
Ability to be outgoing and enthusiastic in all situations
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to direct the work of others
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and in using a variety of technological equipment
Skilled in organization and cleanliness
Other Requirements
California Class C Drivers license
Must have a clean driving record that is acceptable to Table Mountain Rancheria’s insurer
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of documents and records
Physical/Mental Conditions
The physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit, stand, kneel, walk, and stoop multiple times in a given day. They will work with computers, phones, copy and fax machines, and other technology related to the job. The position will be exposed to repetitive motion when using a keyboard, filing documents, and making copies.
