Job Summary
The Student Support Assistant position is responsible for transporting students to/from school and to/from electives and appointments using a school vehicle. Our SSAs help eliminate the barrier of getting to school and help maintain and encourage consistent school attendance. Our drivers are the first link in a long chain that supports our students. Traditionally our SSAs have some of the best connections to our student population because they are the first to greet and the last to say goodbye at the end of each school day. The SSA position also assists with coordinating our daily meal pickups, supervision of the student population during recess/breaks, and collaborates with the rest of the CHYBA staff to support our students in a variety of ways.
