Job Summary
SUMMARY: Performs as an assistant to the school's counseling staff. Is involved with the counseling and monitoring of highly at-risk students; acts as a liaison to and support person for parents of highly at-risk students. This position performs non-instructional duties and is considered a non-instructional assignment.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or equivalent + two years of college OR • High school diploma or equivalent + AA degree or higher OR • High school diploma or equivalent + have a passing score of 70% or higher on the District Academic proficiency test • Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation • Bilingual-biliterate English/Spanish desirable • Must be continuously enrolled in an accredited college/university at the time of hire • Must be available to work Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. • Experience working with students in a school or recreational setting desirable • Experience working with students with special needs is desirable • Experience working with parents desirable
