Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision, assist the certificated teacher by using the primary language to provide access to the core curriculum in areas of Math, Social Studies, English and Science to English Language Learners (ELLs). Provide instructional support to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students in a classroom, pull-out, supervised or other learning environment; prepare or modify instruction materials; translate orally as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a US high school diploma or equivalent along with one of the following: 1. A minimum of 48 semester or 72 quarter units of college coursework. 2. An Associate or higher degree from an accredited college or university. 3. Passage of a local assessment test which meets the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual - Fluent in Spanish. Must be able to read, write, speak and translate the language.
