Desired Qualifications: • Applicants should be fluent in Spanish reading, writing, and speaking. Must be an excellent model in both Spanish and English • Will be willing to assist with the planning and development of the dual immersion program including curriculum development and community outreach • Ability to involve parents and community members in student learning • Knowledge of early childhood education • Knowledge of educational reform, development of curriculum and instruction, professional development and the collaborative planning process • Knowledge of CA's adopted Common Cores and English Language Development standards • An understanding of the principles of Dual Immersion and the development of the partner language (Spanish) • Successful experience as a classroom teacher ideally in a dual immersion program • Proficiency in data analysis and data-driven instruction • Effective collaboration skills and ability to work within a team-teaching environment • Ability to be adaptable within a culture of change and transition • Willingness to continue to seek professional development and apply new learning • Knowledge and support of the district priorities • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships within the district, teachers, students, parents, and community • Must have good communication skills in oral and written form; and maintain sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, religious, sexual orientation and other differences California Multiple Subject credential required authorizing service in an elementary school. Must possess a BCLAD in Spanish. CBEST transcript if newly hired in the State of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school.
