Job Summary
The Director of Events and Activities will help plan, develop, implement, and analyze fundraising campaigns, marketing efforts, meetings, and related events. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Requirements / Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plan, develop, coordinate, and execute school, community, and fundraising events that support the organization's mission and strategic goals. • Collaborate with the CEO, leadership team, and fundraising staff to plan and host events, meetings, tours, and engagement opportunities for donors, sponsors, and community partners. • Develop and implement special events, community outreach initiatives, and promotional activities to increase awareness and support for the organization. • Coordinate all event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, catering, audiovisual needs, scheduling, and volunteer coordination. • Develop and manage event budgets, timelines, and project plans to ensure successful execution. • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers to support events and activities. • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, sponsors, families, and partners. • Promote events through social media, email communications, and other marketing channels in collaboration with the communications team. • Track event participation, expenses, and outcomes, and prepare reports and recommendations for leadership. • Attend meetings, trainings, and community events as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational and program goals. Additional Responsibilities • Model a personal code of ethics aligned with GCA's Mission and Vision. • Attend meetings, trainings, and community events as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals.
Required Skills and Abilities • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills. • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute successful events with attention to detail. • Knowledge of fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach strategies. • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, families, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management or project management software. • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. Education and Experience • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in event planning, community engagement, marketing, fundraising, or a related field. • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred. • Experience working in a nonprofit or educational organization preferred. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing, event management, business development, B2B partnerships, community relations, or a related field preferred. • Experience developing strategic partnerships, coordinating marketing campaigns, and managing corporate or community relationships is highly desirable. • Build and maintain relationships with business partners, sponsors, vendors, and community organizations to support organizational initiatives and event success.Experience supporting elementary or middle school students. • Experience leading enrichment or recreational activities. (Preferred)

• Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’ s License; proof of automobile insurance; and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations
• State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.
• Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years.
