Job Summary
The California Association of Health and Education Linked Professions Joint Powers Authority, Chief Executive Officer (CAHELP JPA, CEO) is responsible for administrative and programmatic leadership necessary to ensure special education programs and services within CAHELP (Desert/Mountain SELPA, Desert/Mountain Charter SELPA, and Desert/Mountain Children’s Center) are effectively led. The CEO will create, communicate, and implement programs and services consistent with the Governance Council’s vision and mission, as well as with the organizations approved plans. In addition, the CEO plays an active role in monitoring state and national legal, legislative, fiscal, and operational issues affecting the delivery of special education programs and services. *Please see the CAHELP JPA CEO Brochure to the right under "Links Related To This Job"
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Education, Special Education, Behavioral Science, Educational Administration, or a closely related field; • Valid California Preliminary or Clear Administrative Services credential; • Five (5) years of current experience as a district level director or above special education administrator or SELPA administrator including experience developing and implementing Special Education Local Plans, as well as experience supervising staff.
