Elementary Teachers’ Aide (2nd grade) Part-Time (25 hours/week, 8 am – 1 pm) Non-Exempt Santa Ynez Valley, CA Position Overview Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered teachers’ aide to join our school community. The responsibilities for this position will include supporting the 2nd grade classroom and supervising students on the playground during recess and lunch break. The ideal candidate will provide an engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Salary Range: $22.00 per hour Benefits: This position does not qualify for benefits. (Employees must work 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits.) Responsibilities • Support the classroom teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment. • Provide individual and small-group student support; assist with instruction, classroom activities, materials, grading, organization, and routines. • Supervise students during recess, lunch, carline, and other assigned activities, maintaining a safe and positive environment. • Model and reinforce positive behavior, character development, fair play, courtesy, and conflict resolution. • Monitor student safety and respond appropriately to injuries, behavioral concerns, and unsafe conditions; report significant concerns to the appropriate teacher or administrator. • Assist with basic first aid and refer serious injuries or illnesses to designated staff. • Maintain orderly classrooms and recreation areas and promote the proper care of school property and equipment. • Build positive relationships with students and serve as a Christ-centered role model. • Communicate effectively and collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, students, and families. • Attend required aide and staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned. • Support and actively contribute to the mission, vision, values, policies, and Statement
