Job Description Summary


The CPAC is hiring multiple people at all technical skill levels under the Technician job posting; this Facilitator role requires expert-level knowledge and understanding of pertinent theatrical systems and procedures for live performances and presentations. Please include a resume so we can learn more about your specialty. CPAC employees will be scheduled on weekends and weeknights to accommodate the busy event schedule


This is a short-term/temporary position.


DEPARTMENT: Performing Arts & Facilities (depending on event)

VENUE: The Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center (CPAC) at Cuesta College


Objective

Our primary goal is to create a safe and memorable experience for audience members, performers/presenters, and fellow technicians. All CPAC staff are required to participate in training activities and to foster a positive learning environment for our students.


Broad Scope and Function:

CPAC House Manager/Front-of-House-Facilitator will work under the supervision of the CPAC Supervisor and alongside the CPAC Technical Facilitator (BOHF) to prepare the CPAC for live performances and presentations. FOHF should have a strong working knowledge of both front-of-house & back-of-house theatrical systems and etiquette.


Essential Functions & Qualifications


Qualifications

- Expert-level knowledge and understanding of theatrical systems and etiquette.

- Ability to take instruction and to work well with others.

- Ability to give instruction and provide constructive feedback to team.

- Ability to work with an array of client personalities and help them accomplish their vision for the lobby and audience experience.

- Strong interpersonal skills.

- Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work at irregular hours.

- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff, and community members.


Duties and Responsibilities - Safely oversee all front-of-house operations.

- Adhere to and enforce all CPAC policies and procedures, as well as ADA regulations.

- Instruct others (including new clients) in the safe operation of all pertinent theatrical systems, including an evacuation plan in the event of an emergency.

- Coordinate tasks for ushers, ticket-takers, etc.

- Attend and/or lead training workshops and maintenance calls.

- Create an atmosphere of mutual trust and support.

- Exhibit a helpful attitude toward all students, and staff, and community members.

- Represent the District when interacting with performers, presenters, patrons, and members of the community; serve as the on-site point-of-contact.

- Work and communicate effectively with students of all skill levels, CPAC staff, external clients, and Cuesta College faculty and administrators.
