Job Summary

Job Summary

The Business Services II position performs responsible and specialized fiscal, accounting, payroll, and accounts payable duties in support of district-wide business operations. This position requires accuracy, confidentiality, independent judgment, and working knowledge of California K-12 public school business practices. The individual in this position is primarily responsible for processing payroll and accounts payable, maintaining related records, reconciling accounts, preparing required reports, and providing responsive assistance to employees, vendors, and district staff.

Requirements / Qualifications

The successful candidate will have knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping, California K-12 school accounting practices, payroll reporting requirements, and financial/payroll software. Must be able to perform detailed fiscal work accurately and independently, interpret applicable laws and policies, reconcile records, identify discrepancies, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with employees, administrators, vendors, and the public. Minimum qualifications include: A high school diploma or equivalent Three years of increasingly responsible experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include coursework or an associate degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field, and experience in a California public school district business office.
