Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of the assigned athletic program. The Head Coach ensures a safe, compliant, and educationally sound environment that promotes student-athlete development, sportsmanship, academic success, and positive self-esteem. The Head Coach supervises all student-athletes and assistant coaches and is accountable for program operations, safety, and compliance. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must meet all requirements under California Code of Regulations, Title 5, 5593. 2. Must be knowledgeable and competent in the areas of: a. Care and prevention of athletic injuries, basic first aid and emergency procedures; b. Coaching techniques; c. Rules and regulations in the athletic activity being coached; and d. Child and adolescent psychology, appropriate to the age and development level of participating students. 3. Prior coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred.
