Job Summary
The Security Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of students, professional community, and visitors at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School. This position is responsible for monitoring campus activity, responding to incidents and emergencies, assisting with traffic control, and supporting the implementation of school-wide safety protocols. The Security Officer will serve as a visible and welcoming presence on campus while enforcing school policies with professionalism and discretion.
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Required • Valid California BSIS Guard Card. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field. • Strong observational, situational awareness, and decision-making skills. • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as required. • Availability to work occasional overtime or flexibility in scheduling for special events or emergencies. Preferred • CPR and First Aid certification. • Familiarity with safety and emergency protocols in a school environment. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: • Hourly Range: $26.00 to $30.00 • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short and Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance • Paid Time Off: Accrue 2 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of sick pay • Retirement: 403(b) Retirement Plan with employer contribution • Additional: Tuition Remission, Salary Continuance Plan, Wee Tartan Childcare Center (upon availability) WORK SCHEDULE: • Workdays: Thursday through Sunday • Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
