Job Summary
Under the direction of the respective District Superintendents or their designees, the School Social Worker provides comprehensive social work and mental health services to students and families in both Hope Elementary School District and Rockford Elementary School District. The School Social Worker supports students' academic achievement, attendance, behavior, and social-emotional well-being by providing assessment, intervention, counseling, consultation, crisis response, and referral services. Working collaboratively with school staff, families, and community agencies, the School Social Worker helps remove barriers to learning and promotes a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational environment. The position is shared equally between Hope Elementary School District and Rockford Elementary School District, with services provided in accordance with each district's needs, priorities, and assigned schedule.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: 1. Master's degree from an accredited college/university in Social Work or related field of study. 2. Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work or eligibility to obtain a waiver for a Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work. Experience: 1. Two (2) years of Social Work experience with children, preferably in a school setting. 2. Knowledge of current prevention and intervention programs/strategies is desired. 3. Experience facilitating groups, presentations, monitoring programs, and report writing
Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage. Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
