Job Summary
Job Summary
Manhattan Beach Unified School District is seeking a collaborative, student-centered school counselor to support the social-emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of students across the District. This position will be assigned 60% to elementary counseling (supporting five elementary schools) and 40% to implementation of the California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) and District support. The elementary counseling portion will provide consistent, Districtwide Tier 1 and Tier 2 services for students in grades TK–5 across all five elementary schools. Responsibilities will include supporting social-emotional learning, early intervention, school connectedness, student well-being, staff consultation, family communication, and parent resources. The CYBHI and District support portion will help sustain and expand comprehensive mental and behavioral health services for all MBUSD students. Responsibilities will include supporting CYBHI implementation, service documentation, compliant billing practices, referral pathways, prevention and early intervention services, data monitoring, and long-term program sustainability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong counseling, communication, organization, collaboration, and data-management skills and a commitment to supporting the whole child.
Requirements / Qualifications
-Master's Degree from an accredited college or university; Possession of a valid California CTC issued Pupil Personnel Services credential authorizing school counseling.
