Job Summary
The Health & Behavioral Aide provides one-to-one support to students with disabilities in educational settings to promote their health, safety, independence, and successful participation in the school day. Under the supervision of the School Services Manager, the aide implements individualized health, behavior, and educational support plans; assists with academic engagement, communication, behavior regulation, and activities of daily living as authorized; and collaborates with school personnel, families, and ESCC staff to support positive student outcomes. This is a part-time (30 hour) position that follows the hours of the school day and the assigned school district calendar. This is a non-exempt position. Students served PreSchool to Adult Education.

The Educational Service Department at Easter Seals is looking for part or full time applicants interested in benefiting the lives of children with autism and other disabilities. The Educational Services Department provides individualized, high quality special education services to children and young adults with disabilities in order to maximize their full potential and help them to lead successful lives through partnerships with families, school districts, and community agencies.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent is required along with one of the following qualifications: (a) completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher learning; or (b) obtained an associate’s or higher degree; or (c) shown through a standardized test knowledge of, and the ability to instruct in reading, writing, and mathematics. Prior paid or volunteer experience with individuals with special needs is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current CPR/First Aid Certification. Department of Justice fingerprint clearance. Current negative tuberculosis test or chest x-ray (required for all classroom positions)
Once offered the position, Human Resources will support the candidate with the certificates required as described.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: *
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
