While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily & log attendance (entered by their parent/learning coach and verified by the teacher). The mission of California Virtual Academy is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for students by incorporating school and community/family partnerships coupled with a rigorous curriculum along with a data-driven and student-centered instructional model. Student success will be measured by valid and reliable assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth within the academic community. The Instructional Paraprofessional Educator, Special Education performs duties necessary to assist in providing specialized academic instruction (SAI) and intensive individual special education instruction to students in our Special Education program.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education, Experience & Required: Have at least one of the following: 1. Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (60+ college units) 2. Have an associate’s or higher degree, or 3. Have a passing score on the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) • Demonstrates an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards students of variousage groups, temperaments and abilities (particularly those exhibiting specialized needs) • Exhibit ability to handle confidential information and materials • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators • Reside in the state of California • Ability to support and guide adults, as well as students • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Flexible schedule • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook, PowerPoint and experience using them in a professional capacity
HOURS AND SALARY INFORMATION: Monday-Friday work hours between 9:00am-3:30pm (Up to 25 Hours per week). You are not allowed to have another job during these contracted hours. Hourly Rate: $23.25 Remote/Virtual Position Full time employees are offered health, dental, and vision benefits. Benefits information is only given out upon offer. We do provide training for all programs and we have a great staff to serve as your support system. We do participate in CalPERS.
