Provide piano accompaniment for choral, voice, boys' and girls' glee, rehearsals and stage productions; accompanies groups or soloist when performing programs outside of the school; improvises or transposes scores; practice new and unfamiliar music; provide musical accompaniment for special school programs; may maintain library of sheet music. Knowledge of Basic musical theory, including fundamentals of harmony and notation; Classic, modem, and folk music; Piano techniques and literature. Ability to Play classical, modem, folk music on the piano; Sight read, improvise, and transpose; Accompany vocal groups or soloists on the piano; Understand and follow oral and written directions; Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for an Accompanist. Under supervision, the employee is to play accompaniment for music classes and events. The employee will also serve as rehearsal and performance accompanist both in and outside the classroom and to do related work as may be required. Selection Process: The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review and interviews. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of experience as an accompanist for soloists and/or choruses. REQUIRED LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATES Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver's License. The following must be submitted with your online application for interview consideration:
