Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the site administrator and, when applicable, the daily direction of a credentialed teacher or designated supervisor, perform a variety of temporary classified support duties throughout the school district. Assignments may include, but are not limited to, providing instructional support in classrooms, supervising students during recess, lunch, arrival and dismissal, assisting with student safety, and performing other general support duties as needed. Substitutes are assigned on an as-needed basis to fill short-term absences and may work in a variety of school environments. Duties vary depending on the assignment and may include supporting students academically, socially, and behaviorally, maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, supervising students, and assisting staff with daily school operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, enjoys working with children, communicates effectively, and is able to adapt to different assignments and age groups.
Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. For instructional assignments, applicants must meet one of the following: Associate's Degree (or higher); or Completion of at least two years of college (60 semester units or 90 quarter units); or Pass the San Pasqual Union School District Instructional Aide Examination. Current TB clearance required. First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
