Requirements / Qualifications
Credential Requirements: Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Theatre, or another California credential authorizing theatre instruction in a departmentalized secondary setting. The credential must include an English learner authorization or equivalent authorization recognized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Required: Demonstrated knowledge of acting, directing, improvisation, script analysis, performance, and theatrical production. Ability to provide standards-aligned instruction, direct student performances, and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and collaboration skills Desired: Experience directing plays, musicals, or devised theatre productions at the secondary, collegiate, or professional level. Experience with technical theatre, interdisciplinary arts collaboration, auditions, public performances, community partnerships, and student portfolio development is preferred.
