THE POSITION: The Coordinator III - LCAP Accountability, will provide technical, specialized, consultative, advisory and planning services in specified programs and services areas related to Federal and State education programs and Local Control and Accountability Plans This involves advising Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the development of strategic operational plans and program activities; serving as a resource to school districts, schools and the county office staff in the implementation of federal and state education programs, including the LCAP and Title I school-wide plans and programs, federal local accountability requirements for schools, monitoring federal and state legislation and providing interpretation and guidance; coordinating, monitoring and reviewing project services with local, County, State and Federal agencies; and performing other related duties as assigned. The coordinator position requires highly specialized subject matter expertise in educational accountability systems, as well as comprehensive, directly related and progressive experience in federal and state education programs. Under administrative directions, makes decisions of critical consequence impacting daily operations of a project or program, implements and revises established policies and operational procedures. May provide technical and functional supervision of professional, technical, and clerical personnel. Meets most frequently with superintendents, assistant superintendents, district state and federal programs directors, principals, staff from the California Department of Education (CDE), as well as internal staff, for the purpose of planning and directing activities, implementing decisions, justifying and defending decisions and negotiating or settling significant and/or controversial issues related to the specified program.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive experience, including at least three years of administrative experience in working with Federal and State accountability programs. Education: Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Possess and maintain a valid K-12 Teaching Credential and an Administrative Services Credential (must attach credential with document number).
