Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: 1) Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Electrical/Electronic Systems, Diesel Engines and Engine Repairs -OR- High School Diploma or GED equivalency with two years, or more, of related experience/training, or combination of education and training in Electrical/Electronic Systems, Diesel Engines and Engine Repairs. 2) CPR/First Aid Certificate (or CHP First Aid Testing) 3) CA Class B Commercial License with Air Brake, "P" and “S” endorsements 4) Addition to Bus Driver Testing Pool (under CA Vehicle Code); required to submit to random drug and alcohol testing under the guidelines of the DOT Bus Driver Pool 5) Candidate must pass a pre-employment DOT Physical, thereafter, every two years, or every year if over the age of 65, or as required for medical issues 6) Bendix, Electrical/Electronic Systems and Wheelchair Lift Service and Repair Certificate within 6 months of employment Please note: Hiring preference will be given to applicants who have a current Class B License and School Bus Certificate. Applicants without a Class B License and School Bus Certificate may be considered. If hired without a Class B License and School Bus certificate, the employee would be given up to 6 months from date of hire to obtain a Class B License and School Bus certificate.
