Becoming a substitute teacher is a way to experience teaching while also contributing to our school community. Substitutive teaching can be rewarding and worthwhile for those who are considering a career in teaching. As a contracted substitute teacher for CESD, you will be responsible for the continued learning of all students in your classroom when the teacher of record is absent, maintain a safe and supportive classroom culture, and collaborate with other teachers and administrators to ensure a successful school day. School sites can vary day by day depending on the need within the (5) school sites in the Chowchilla Elementary School District.
Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must meet these minimum qualifications: For an Emergency 30-Day Sub Permit - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Must be verified by official transcripts. For a Prospective Teacher Sub Permit - Official transcripts to verify completion of at least 90 semester units (or 135 quarter units), verification of current enrollment in a regionally four-year California college or university and have met the Basic Skills Requirements (BSR).
