Job Summary

Under the general supervision of a Special Education classroom teacher, assists in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students at an assigned elementary school site; prepares instructional materials and performs a variety of clerical duties as assigned. Sometimes required to support more than one teacher and classroom.

Requirements / Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent 48 college units or AA Degree or Higher, pursuing 24 college units in special education coursework or a minimum of 3 yrs' experience working in a special education classroom or as a one-to-one sp ed instructional aide; Ability to pass the district proficiency test in reading, writing & mathematics. Ability to complete and pass district approved weight endurance physical upon being selected for position; Spanish bilingual desirable.
