Golden Valley Charter Schools is seeking passionate, creative, and student-centered educators to join our team as Single Subject Specialty Teachers. We welcome applicants who hold a valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in a variety of content areas, including but not limited to Visual Arts, Music, Theater, Agriculture, World Languages/Multicultural Studies, Physical Education, Home Economics, and other specialty disciplines. At Golden Valley Charter Schools, specialty subjects are an essential part of our educational program—not simply electives. Our Specialty Teachers are valued members of the instructional team who help cultivate creativity, confidence, movement, cultural appreciation, and artistic expression through engaging, hands-on learning experiences that enrich every student's educational journey. Our Specialty Teachers play a vital role in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that supports the intellectual, artistic, physical, social, and emotional growth of students within our Waldorf-inspired public charter school. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and families, Specialty Teachers create meaningful learning experiences that inspire curiosity, foster creativity, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate a lifelong love of learning. Whether through music, movement, visual arts, language, theater, agriculture, or other specialty disciplines, our educators help students discover their unique talents while contributing to a vibrant, collaborative school community where the whole child is nurtured and every subject is valued. This recruitment is intended to establish an applicant pool for current and anticipated Single Subject Specialty Teacher openings. Qualified candidates may be considered for opportunities at either of our TK–8 campuses as staffing needs arise.

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must possess: -A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential (or other California credential authorizing instruction in the applicable specialty area). -Authorization to teach in the subject area for which they are applying. -Strong instructional, classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills. -A commitment to creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences that support the academic, artistic, physical, and social-emotional development of all students. -Experience working with school-aged children is preferred. -Knowledge of or appreciation for Waldorf-inspired educational philosophy is preferred, but not required.

We proudly operate two TK–8 campuses, each serving approximately 315 students, where the arts, movement, music, world languages, and other specialty subjects are valued as essential components of a well-rounded education—not simply electives. We are seeking passionate educators from a variety of credentialed specialty areas, including but not limited to: -Visual Arts -Music -Theater/Drama -Agriculture -World Languages -Multicultural Studies -Physical Education -Home Economics -Other California Single Subject credential areas This recruitment will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates for anticipated specialty teaching opportunities throughout the school year. As positions become available, applicants from this pool may be contacted for interviews. At Golden Valley, we believe education should nurture the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, artistically, and physically. Our Waldorf-inspired philosophy emphasizes creativity, experiential learning, meaningful relationships, and developmentally appropriate instruction. Specialty Teachers play a vital role in bringing these principles to life by fostering curiosity, creativity, movement, and self-expression across our school community. While previous Waldorf experience is welcomed, it is not required. We value educators who are excited to learn and grow within our educational model. Teachers are encouraged to pursue Waldorf Teacher Training, and our Educational Foundation proudly provides financial assistance to help offset the cost of approved training programs.
