Job Summary
The Chowchilla Elementary School District is accepting applications for Substitute Grounds Helpers to perform a variety of grounds duties on an as-needed basis. Under general supervision, substitutes assist in maintaining District grounds, athletic fields, landscaped areas, and outdoor facilities in a clean, safe, and attractive condition.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Demonstrate a knowledge of and aptitude for yard work; • Must possess a valid California Drivers License; • A pre-placement medical assessment is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met; • Must pass a D.O.J. background check; • Must pass a T.B. test.

Comments and Other Information
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Mow, edge, trim, and water lawns and landscaped areas.
Plant, prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, weed eaters, blowers, edgers, and other hand and power tools.
Remove weeds, leaves, litter, and debris from school grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and play areas.
Assist with irrigation system repairs and adjustments.
Prepare and maintain athletic fields and outdoor recreational areas.
Load, unload, and transport equipment, supplies, and materials.
Assist with moving tables, equipment, and materials for school and district events.
Observe and report unsafe conditions, vandalism, or needed repairs.
Perform related duties as assigned.
